Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis to create positive change by encouraging and enhancing the use of your own inner resources. It is a relaxed state of awareness where your conscious mind is quietened, allowing your unconscious mind to play a more active part.
In hypnotherapy, by accessing the unconscious mind, the therapist can help the client reprogram the unconscious mind and to change negative habits and beliefs, overcome phobias, relieve anxiety, improve self-esteem and confidence, quit smoking, and address a wide range of other psychological, emotional, and physical health issues. The hypnotic state allows the therapist to communicate directly with the unconscious mind, bypassing the critical conscious mind and facilitating lasting change. Hypnotherapy is typically done in one-to-one sessions and the number of sessions needed varies depending on the issue being addressed.
